Thomas B. McGuire from the 431st Fighter Squadron of the famous 475th Fighter Group. McGuire, along with another famous P-38 pilot, R. M. Bong, were the United States' highest scoring aces during the war, racking up 38 and 40 kills respectively. Neither, however, survived the war.
